The mantel, hearth and mirrors in these photos were in need of an update. Ceramic tile formerly surrounding the fireplace insert and covering the hearth was replaced with a white oak mantel and hearth. The mirrors were framed with white oak picture frame style molding. Quartersawn oak was used, giving the "tiger oak" look. The bottom 10" of the mirrors were covered in order to bring the mantel up closer to eye level.

An 8' long window seat was also built for the bay window area. The top of the seat has two lift-up lids with "soft-close" supports. A heating vent was located on the floor beneath the window; ductwork was installed to vent out under the window seat, in the toe kick area. Switches and junction boxes were wired in for the wall sconces.
