This bar includes a number of custom features. The tops for the bar, base cabinets and sink area were cut from slabs of
spalted white oak. Spalting is caused by various fungi in the early stages of the wood decay process; this is what
produces the intriguing color patterns.
The water meter, shutoff valves and circuit breaker box are located behind the wall cabinets. A specialized hinge and attachment
method was devised to allow several of the cabinets to swing out in order to provide access.
Walnut was used for the foot rail, bar top edge and counter top edgings. The curved arm rail was milled as one continuous piece.
