The home with these red oak bookcases has baseboard heating. This made it a bit of a challenge to build the bottom support without blocking the heat flow, as well as provide a means for the heat to enter the room. The framed metal gratings at the bottom are attached with magnetic catches to allow for cleaning and access to the heating vents.
The CD storage cabinet was built for the dining room area of this home.
